Background: Nerello Mascalese is a native grape variety from Sicily, Italy. The most famous vineyards are located on the Etna volcano. The high altitude helps the grapes cool down from the Sicilian daytime sun at night, allowing the Nerello Mascalese from this region to reach perfect ripeness and produce some of the most representative high-quality wines. Its high acidity and high tannins give it aging potential, earning it the reputation of being "the Barolo and Burgundy of Sicily."
This wine from Château La Tour de Sicily uses grapes from western Sicily. Unlike the volcanic rock of Etna, the western region is dominated by sandy rock, resulting in a wine primarily characterized by crisp and bright fruit aromas, focusing on showcasing the varietal's fruit flavors.
Tasting Notes:A ruby red color, this wine exudes a rich aroma of spice and berries, giving it a vibrant and elegant character. It pairs perfectly with grilled meats, pasta, and cheese.
